September 14th (Sat) 'Star' trophy final at Wimbledon. "Gus Kuhn showed that he was no means a make weight even in such company. Gus had made up his mind to prove that he is not yet a back number, and the presence of such hardy campaigners as Kilmister and Hansen did not unduly perturb him. The wily veteran is never happier than when some pertinacious opponent (in this case Kilmister) is using all his arts to find a way past. On such occasions he might have eyes in the back of his head, so unerringly does he guess which way his opponent is about to move" [Speedway News 21/9/35] A win and two 3rds.
