Tom rode for the Gus Kuhn team in on the Isle of Man and in Endurance events. He finished 3rd in the Senior and 4th in the Junior TTs in 1969, also winning the Joe Craig Trophy for best aggregate performance on a British machine. The following year he finished 19th in the Junior. Later that year he partnered Ron Wittich on a Gus Kuhn Norton in the Barcelona 24 hour race.

In 1975 he partnered Daryll Pendlebury to bring the Kuhn Penthouse 900cc BMW into second place in the production class of the Barcelona 24 hour race, behind Dave Potter and Gary Green on a similar machine.
